Raccoons miss you...

Raccoon Misses You - Postcard - JFleming 2015
Have to admit that the arms don't quite work there... and the
contrast of painting style from the fuzzy tail to the smoother
looking arms and head... Ah, well, for a quick job, he's pretty cute.
Got a request from a preschool class teacher for a few cards featuring a raccoon. Here's one of them. Had fun working on these and wish I had need to do more. Took longer than it should have - probably 3 or 4 hours from concept to completion. I'm slow...

Couldn't decide what I wanted to do for the card so
I drew the arms last and combined pieces in photoshop.

Sculpture: Man's Face and a Hand

I've been watching a lot of Ace of Clay on Youtube recently and really wanted to try some of his techniques but I wasn't at home that day.  Dad has some super soft stanky clay that he uses to work out some of his carvings and so I got into that this week. Maybe it's time to pull out my sculpture stuff again. Really do miss it - I enjoy that more than I do writing or drawing or... probably even eating LOL  Anyway... this clay was really soft stuff and it was hard to keep from smashing it or doing any real detail work - I mean, look at those ears HA!

Freelance Design: Selena Sews

Proofs with the two I liked most at the top... This is the one she chose - definitely my favorite - although she chose the one with the sewing machine for a larger sign she was going to do cut vinyl for. I'm looking forward to seeing these in action. A talented friend asked me to help her with some designs for craft bag tags. If you're interested in seeing some of her side-hustle goods, check out her facebook page .
