Photoshop Babies

Every year I've been doing slides and cards for Parent/Child Dedication and every year it takes longer than I expect to transform the pictures that the parents give me into something that translates well to the SD format. Here are only a few of the before/after samples from this year's lot.

Baby Dedication Slides
Found an arm, color matched it then extended the background.

Baby Dedication Slides
Doesn't look like much, but I tilted the pic, extended the background and added a filter.

Baby Dedication Slides
This one was the most challenging of the bunch. Had to scan and fix a low res pic
and then extend the background for the slide.

Baby Dedication Slides
Levels, sharpening, background work.

Baby Dedication Slides
Extended the background. This one didn't turn out quite right because of the
pattern of the blanket he is sitting on. Added a wall and finished the dresser.

Sculpture: Man's Face and a Hand

I've been watching a lot of Ace of Clay on Youtube recently and really wanted to try some of his techniques but I wasn't at home that day.  Dad has some super soft stanky clay that he uses to work out some of his carvings and so I got into that this week. Maybe it's time to pull out my sculpture stuff again. Really do miss it - I enjoy that more than I do writing or drawing or... probably even eating LOL  Anyway... this clay was really soft stuff and it was hard to keep from smashing it or doing any real detail work - I mean, look at those ears HA!
