Design: Transforming Grace Series

New sermon series is coming...

Attempt 1: I knew it might be a bit too conceptual for Pastor, but I usually try that route first just to prime the pump and then I was hopeful that he'd go with it, so I showed it to him. He's like, "Uh, Jen, reign it in."
One of the messages for the series will be on the 2nd coming of Christ and that made me think about how His grace transforms us from "goats" to "sheep" and... yeah, was too conceptual for Pastor since the focus for the series
isn't literally on how Christ separates the Sheep and Goats. [background template from Igniter Media]
He liked the title text layout/font choices and the dark background so here're the next few proofs:

I didn't want to do butterfly imagery since it's so over done... so here's changing leaves...

Just the text... kinda nice, actually.
Moody guy with filters - thought the light at the top of the image was hopeful.
God's transforming grace/faith often starts at the top [head then heart].

And then there's this happy woman. I liked the hopeful imagery. In my mind, grace is interchangeable with hope
because they're so interlinked for me. Dancing in the rain or dancing after the rain, the idea of sun after rain -
how rain transforms landscapes and the sunlight after storms have a hopeful connotation.
Did a lot to the original photo [added shadows/texture, changed colors].
But even I thought it looked more like a women's study book cover
than it did a sermon series title.

Stitching Project: Bear

Found a pattern for a simple bear on pinterst - decided to do one of them yesterday evening. It didn't take long and I think it turned out ok. What do you think? I'm not crazy about the shape of the arms - am going to make those a little different next time. I enjoyed doing it so much that I think I'm going to re-purpose those millions of old shirts into cute little plush dolls I can send with our church members when they go on various mission trips. And I should have enough left to put into an Operation Christmas Child box or two this fall.

Hang a Star - Illustration

The original sketch for "Hang a Star". I love to draw snowmen and little animals in scenes. Here's the completed illustration - colored digitally in photoshop.

AI Narrated Audio Books Coming!

I'm so excited to share that I'm fast working towards having AI narrated books available for those of you who prefer to listen to books. They will be available through Google Play to begin with. I haven't decided where else I'll be making them available. Here's the first one.  Books one and two will be available starting January 31, 2023.
