Chainsaw Carver Goes to a Tradeshow

This is one of my long time clients, a chainsaw carving sculptor, Burt Fleming... ok, ok; so that's my dad. Anyway, I've done several designs for him over the years but this is the first time he's gone to an official trade show and he needed some new more modern designs - business cards, postcards, the banner, ink pens and such.

This is the redesigned card using the same dramatic action pose as the poster and postcards.
He's wearing his "signature" art geek t shirt.

Freelance Design: Selena Sews

Proofs with the two I liked most at the top... This is the one she chose - definitely my favorite - although she chose the one with the sewing machine for a larger sign she was going to do cut vinyl for. Sculpture: Man's Face and a Hand

     I've been watching a lot of Ace of Clay on Youtube recently and really wanted to try some of his techniques but I wasn't at home that day.  Dad has some super soft stanky clay that he uses to work out some of his carvings and so I got into that this week. Maybe it's time to pull out my sculpture stuff again. Really do miss it - I enjoy that more than I do writing or drawing or... probably even eating LOL  Anyway... this clay was really soft stuff and it was hard to keep from smashing it or doing any real detail work - I mean, look at those ears HA!
