You know, I've never been much good at giving a solid quote for a freelance job. I always end up spending too much time on the design in my effort to make the client happy (and to be sure I don't overlook something important). I'm currently designing a short devotional book that the client wants to submit to Createspace (Amazon.com's publisher). I've done some pamphlets and little booklets and thought I knew enough to make InDesign do what I wanted it to. I did, thank goodness, but I had to freshen up my understanding of a few particulars about the file saving since I've only worked with local printers - never an actual book print shop that is super particular about what the submitted files look like.
